Hopes Float is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization which provides an engaging, fun, accessible fishing experience to disadvantaged children and adults. This project is a joint effort between the Colorado Division of Wildlife, Hopes Float and volunteers in Northern Colorado. This project involved the purchase of a customized pontoon boat which is wheel chair accessible, and contains accommodations for anglers who may not have the strength or endurance to fish in otherwise typical conditions. The volunteers who work with Hopes Float have completed the required certification courses making them eligible to take small groups to fish different bodies of water in Northern Colorado. This will give disabled and disadvantaged youth the opportunity to experience the pleasure and excitement of fishing and provide a greater awareness of outdoor recreation and an appreciation of the natural environment that we all share.
